MEET OUR TL1 ASSISTANT FACILITATOR FOR OUR CSC CHURCH COHORT!
Hey! My name is Conrad.
Most days you can find me on the road, paying visits to Hospice patients and their families offering them spiritual support and encouragement. I am new to this line of work, but it has already provided rich moments of encounter with God’s presence. Our default setting as New Englanders isn’t usually inclined to let others into our complex lives, but this line of ministry has offered a rare and precious opportunity to hold that space and that person’s story before the Lord.
I am known for loving good food, good music and a good story. In my humble opinion, any (and all) of those things can serve as bridges, connecting people together.
Over the past handful of years, God has reintroduced me to the gifts that stillness and silence can offer the disciple of Jesus Christ in the hectic age we currently live in. Through these simple disciplines, I have come to be more attentive to the subtle whispers and touches from God and more curious about the things God is revealing in me. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a long way to go!
It goes without saying that connecting with PAX was a part of a long and intentional journey God has been leading me on. God is responsible for it all, am I right?!
I had first heard about spiritual direction close to 4 years ago from some of the books I was reading. I had been serving with a church and in ministry for some years, but within leadership we can often feel like we are cemented into the role of shepherd rather than the shepherded. I have asked my soul the question “who are the people who can hold space for my complex journey?”
In 2024 I had an opportunity to be a part of a pastoral care cohort, receiving spiritual direction, the simple gift of a sacred companion listening, inquiring and honoring my current, unfolding journey with Jesus. Since that opportunity I have felt an increased gravitational pull towards Spiritual Direction and through PAX I am seeking to hold similar space for others, listening to, inquiring of, and honoring the stories of others as they unfold over time.
Connections with friends, an opportunity to participate with TL1, and some God orchestrated conversations have led me here and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the team.
Here are some things you may not know about me:
I drink my coffee black. Why hide the flavor?
I never thought I would live in RI but I have come to love it.
I love audiobooks…maybe too much.
I’m a pizza nerd.
I have a deep appreciation for a wide range of music. Give me a try, I may be able to recommend something that you may like!
If you are longing for deeper sensitivity to God, greater curiosity regarding your inner world, or noticed a growing hunger for the feast that is within Jesus Christ, I would love to connect with you!
